You have a duty
It is the responsibility of everyone now to ensure the virus is contained by informing, exercising hygiene and sanitation, and practicing social distancing
WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic after it became a global problem. The situation is worsening every day as new cases are recorded. Countries that had previously not registered any coronavirus case have at least one or more trials testing positive while many are in quarantine.
The disease which originated from Wuhan city of China is thought to have travelled from animals to human beings. In most countries, infections are linked to persons who have travelled to or through high-risk countries. It is believed that air pollution might increase death rates associated with the virus. Therefore, persons living in environments with poor air quality and inadequate sanitation might suffer the most because the disease mainly affects the respiratory systems.
What is left now is for you and me to take precautionary measures, maintain good hygiene, wash hands, avoid social contacts, and seek medical attention should you exhibit the symptoms!
It is in the interest of everyone for the virus to be contained; hence there is a high probability of lockdowns. Italy and China are already in a state of lockdown.
By the time this article was posted, Africa had over 400 confirmed cases, most of whom were persons who had travelled into those countries or had come in contact with an infected individual. As a results, some countries placed strict measures again admission to entry while banning flights to and from specific countries.
The spread of the virus and the lockdowns affect the world from an environmental, economic, social and political aspects.
